Debangshu Seal –
I’m from India and I was referred by my friend who previously availed services of Hue Car rental. I directly contacted Mr. Hai and explained my requirements. He suggested me all the options and I went for Option 1.
We(myself and wife) were picked right on time from Hue Train Station by a wonderful driver Mr. Hung. As per plan he showed as all the places and was very sweet throughout our journey giving us all information. He even clicked our pictures at various places and view points. We were dropped right in front of our hotel.
Overall had a great time during this journey between Hue and Hoi An.
Thank you Hue Car Rental 🙂

We’ve just arrived in Hoi An after a wonderful door-to-door experience with Mr.Hai – one of your drivers. It was fantastic. Lovely car; smiling, friendly and courteous driver; we visited lots of interesting places en route; and he even took us to the Citadel in Hue this morning (for a few dollars more) because we hadn’t had a chance to see it yesterday. His driving was calm, professional and reassuring, and the route superb. He even showed us a great local place for Vietnamese food for lunch by Marble Mountain. Many thanks. Highly recommended.
Jacqueline Carroll –
We booked their service with a return trip from our hotel in Hoi An to Hue instead of the usual one way trip (their main operating area is to/from Hue) and the price is quite reasonable.
So we met our lovely driver, Mr.Hai and he has to be one of the most gentle driver I’ve ever had from all the other car hires. I can only say overall excellent, careful and comfortable driving throughout the day. It did make us feel safe knowing that the road conditions and lighting aren’t always the best plus the heavy rain that we had at night.
Mr.Hai was also very flexible and accommodating to our requests and even bought us to a local shop for lotus seeds which is challenging to get a good deal on our own as foreigners.
He arrived around 15mins early for our pick up and never once we had to wait when we are ready to depart from any location.
Overall a very positive experience from us and will definitely recommend to try out huecarrental travel with drivers up to Hai’s standard.

We wanted a car to go from Hoi An to Hue. This looked like an easy option, since we were travelling with young kids.
Our driver’s name was Hai. He was very good and was a careful aware and polite driver with a new car. His English was passable for the anticipated service, but good for what we have seen in the region.
We loved Marble Mountain, but blew past most of the other spots, because it was pouring rain. Sad that we missed the pass, but it seemed like the best choice.
Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this service. It was more expensive than a bus, but way more comfortable.

We fly into Hue and spent a night there and we needed a means to get to Hoi An. Hoi Vin Pass, Marble Mountain and the Lady Buddha were all on the way so we decided to hire a driver. After emailing a few companies, i found that Hai and this company was the most prompt and professional. Hai was our driver that day and he was great. He spoke good english and stopped at many places for photo opportunities. Vietnams traffic is crazy so you need a good driver, Hai was the man for the job! He even let me pay in GBP as i was having trouble getting VND.
We were so happy with the service we hire another driver for a My Son day trip, and also to the airport. Prices for all trips were cheaper than their competition, trust me i checked!
A bonus for all 3 cars, they have wifi!

We had four trips with them and everyone was great. hai spent the most time with us and he is really really great to be around. He loved our kids as he also has a daughter and now we certainly feel like he is our Freind for life. He really made us feel special and my kids still talk about him. I received prices from other companies and these guys were cheaper- and they have wifi in their cars. Hai even went on all the excursions as if he was a guide- he wasn’t getting paid for that. Most drivers just sleep in their cars after dropping you off. Highly recommend Thomas if he’s available- I would even plan your trip around his availability. He’s worth it! We’re a family of five from Idaho with young kids- first time to vietnam.

My wife and I made use of their Hue to Hoi an service. Our smiling driver, Hai, arrived exactly on time and we set off for Hoi an via the Hai Van pass. Hai was an absolute pleasure – he spoke excellent English and we made pleasant conversation all the way Hoi an, stopping at a few sights along the way.
He was always smiling and willing to stop whenever we wanted to take pictures. We felt very safe during the trip along the pass and our guide was knowledgeable about the local area and sights.
Wifi in the car was an added bonus – but leave your phone in your pocket, cause you miss some amazing sights.
Highly recommended – ask for Hai!

AAA+++ memorable and just awesome.
We had one of the best trips of our lives! Our guide Hai was absolutely amazing. He was professional and courteous – and looked after our grandmother like she was his own. In fact he treated all of us like family!
Thank you Hue carrental for facilitating a great trip. I highly recommend!!!

Dianna Mcgee –
I discovered Hue Private Cars quite by accident while planning our trip from Australia. I was trying to get us from Phong Nha to Hue and really didn’t want to catch the bus or the train, so I decided to check out a private car option. Wow – I was really pleasantly surprised regarding the cost. A full day visiting the tourist stops on the way was just shy of 100USD and it was worth every cent.
We were picked up from our accomodation in Phong Nha and taken to the 8 Ladies Cave, in the National Park at around 7.30 in the morning by Mr Hai – a delightful man who ensured that our trip was comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. He remove a head rest for me so I could rest my camera on the seat top. He made every effort to communicate with us – telling as about the history and the culture of the area.
Heading south past Dong Hoi, we headed to the Vin Mohc tunnels, Ben Hai River, La Vang Holy Land and finally into Hue. We went to the office to pay and they had a lovely surprise for us – flowers for International Womens Day.
We decided to booked an all day tour with them for the following day – Trahn Toan village, The last emperors Temple, Ming Mang(?) temple, the Imperial City, the pagoda just east of the city and a cruise on the Perfume River. It was exceptional value at $35 USD per head which included all admissions and lunch.
The following day, we again used a private car to head to Hoi An. This trip took us past Lang Co and up through the Hai Van pass then onto Danang. We went to Marble Mountain and to some of the stone carvers. After the tranquillity of Hue and Phong Nha, the over bearing nature of the vendors had us quite bamboozled but Hai help us navigate this and after, we deferred to him for help in negotiations. He was genuinely ensuring that we didnt pay any more than was fair for both parties. He also took us to a lovely cafe for lunch.
After lunch, we headed off to My Son – a Champa ruins of breath taking grandeur. Sadly we had to pass an accident where two women had been knocked off their motorbikes and didn’t look like they were doing very well. Hai was very distressed and apologetic and kept saying “Look away Sue”. He was so compassionate about the plight of these people and also for us.
After My Son, Hai took us to Hoi An. We wanted to have some clothes made and he introduced us to Laura at Canali. She turned out to be a very competent tailor and even though it was late and Hai had a long drive back to Hue, he was not at all concerned about waiting for us to be measured.
So all up – Phong Nha to Hue via lots of touristy places, the tour around Hue and our lying districts for two and the trip from Hue to Hoi An via My Son. The young men who drove for us – – were truly delightful, helpful and interesting and Binh Binh who guided us was extremely good. The company is easy to deal with and all payments can be made on the day. We had a little mix up at the beginning and the company were fantastic in dealing with it all.
I would thoroughly recommend these guys again. We had a brilliant time and going via private vehicle is fantastic – al the freedom of a hire car without the hassle of negotiating the traffic. Thank you Hue Carrental – see you agan very soon I hope 🙂 Juanita Burke

We did two tours with this company while in Hue – a Food Cycle Tour in the evening and a morning tour down the Perfume River to the Royal Tombs.
The Food Cyclo Tour was fun, with just our family (myself, husband and 11 yr old) and our guide, Hai, enjoying an evening out trying the foods of Hue. We had already done a food tour in Hanoi but decided to do another in Hue because the food is so special, dating back to the Imperial Court. We went to multiple restaurants and stalls, trying lots of different foods – including frog noodles which we would never have tried on our own. A lot of it was prawn/shrimp based. The coffee spot is one of the most memorable places I have ever had a coffee and was the highlight of the tour for me. Hai also told us a lot about the city of Hue and the Citadel. He was an excellent guide and we enjoyed spending the evening with his.
I wasn’t sure about the Cyclo idea – felt a bit odd being driven around. But we all enjoyed it and it is a different way to see a city. The drivers were friendly and the traffic is less crazy here than in Hanoi or Saigon so probably a good place to do it. Hue is also more spread out than Hanoi, where we did our other food tour, so by walking you would have been more restricted in where you could go. The drivers also get plenty of rest time between stops as you eat.
Our second tour was a 1/2 day Perfume River and Royal Tombs tour, with a different guide – Thang. Again it was just our family. Thang was excellent and knew a lot about the history of the Nygen dynasty, answering all our questions. We also happened to be at the main Buddhist Temple on the day of a special ceremony which, as a member of that Temple, she was able to explain to us exactly what was happening. The river trip component was lovely and a great way to get out of the busy cities. We travelled to the Buddhist temple and two of the Royal Tombs and got a great history lesson.
This tour finished with lunch – which was amazing and much more than we had expected. We ate at y Thao Garden and were treated to course after course of wonderful food. Doing the food tour the night before meant we had a better idea than we would have done about what we ate. During our two weeks we ate a lot of spring rolls – but we voted the ones here as the tastiest in Vietnam!
I would highly recommend HUECARRENTAL Travel if you are going to Hue – both tours were well paced, easy to organise and conducted by excellent guides.

We booked a private driver for 4 people to take us from Hue to Hoi An and were pleasantly surprised when Hai turned up in a very nice, clean car that fit us all in comfortably along with our bags. It had air conditioning and even wifi! Hai was a fantastic guide and let us do our own thing at our own leisure throughout the day.
Our first stop was Elephant springs which was lovely and we weren’t rushed into leaving or being scammed like I had read previously online. We then went to Lang Co lagoon to take some pictures and have some lunch. We ate at a place called the Lagoon which was extremely good value for money and very nice food, the spring rolls were to die for!
We then went round the corner to Lang Co beach and had some more pictures before making our way up Hai Van Pass. Loc was great and even suggested photo opportunities along the way, he stopped for us to get out and take the perfect selfie. He was very knowledgeable and it really added an additional touch.
Due to the weather we decided not to venture up the marble mountain but Hai still took us close enough for a picture before taking us to our hotel in Hoi An. On the way he even stopped to show us some recommended tailors as he knew that was something we planned to do on our trip.
I would highly recommend this company (in particular Hai) to anyone who is looking at travelling from Hue to Hoi An as you get to visit some amazing places whilst also having a personal guide and being comfortable in between stops in an air conditioned vehicle rather than a local bus.
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and Hai even remembered our names which was lovely.
Thank you Hai!
